Recently, there have been many blogs about a genetic condition called MTHFR. Even so, you may not have heard about it. It’s up there with pyrrole which is another disorder which has seen increasing interest. More and more of our children (and often adults) find that they have to work harder just to maintain a base-line of health. There are more and more of these genetic conditions being discovered every day as we explore the intricacies of the human genome  in more detail. As a result, we are beginning to see how these genes are influencing our health on all … [Read more...] about MTHFR: a role for Homeopathy?

For the parents of zippy, complex, independant, sometimes-celebrated but tricky kids it's an often asked question, "Is there any help offered by homeopathy for childhood behaviour problems? Thankfully the answer is a big yes.  Homeopathy gives options where the world of medicine may have few answers or few desirable answers. Using a natural medicine approach, the homeopath provides treatment which is supportive of the child and parents, and non-judgemental of both. We start homeopathy for childhood behaviour problems with a treatment schedule Any child who has a … [Read more...] about Homeopathy For Childhood Behaviour Problems?

Homeopathy and true scepticism

04/09/2015 By Linlee Leave a Comment

two-women-arguing

I would like to invite my friends to exercise true scepticism when it comes to the topic of homeopathy. I hear you thinking “Huh? I thought you were annoyed with the sceptics?” Well, perhaps yes, but not in the way that you may surmise. Despite it being widely used around the world, Homeopathy is an alternative form of medicine which sceptics love to attack and make comments about. I admit that it’s mildly annoying when certain sceptics occupy themselves by making their witty anti-homeopathy statements. They seem to entertain themselves. But, it’s more than … [Read more...] about Homeopathy and true scepticism

If I Don’t Eat Wheat, What Can I Eat??

20/08/2015 By Louise Ross-Campbell Leave a Comment

ears-of-wheat

The thought of excluding wheat-containing foods for most people seems impossible, but many people are now choosing a wheat-free diet. Scientific research is now giving us many good reasons to avoid wheat-containing products as they are increasing the potential for a surprising number of health problems. Obesity, Heart Disease, Coeliac’s Disease, Systemic Inflammation of the Immune System, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) are all aggravated by wheat. Wheat increases blood sugar, aggravates and inflames our intestines and … [Read more...] about If I Don’t Eat Wheat, What Can I Eat??

Homeopathy for eczema and allergies

11/08/2015 By Linlee Leave a Comment

facts-about-allergy-eczema

Henry’s mum felt guilty - she saw her child suffering, he was always scratching. She wondered if they were doing enough, and this drove her on to see one specialist after another. She felt singled out when well meaning people in the street would make suggestions, as if she hadn’t already tried everything. Part of Henry's story is told in this excerpt from a recently published ATMS journal article, A Cup of Tea in the Consulting Room: The Latest in Homoeopathy about Eczema and Allergies. The authors Linda Beaver (LB) and Linlee Jordan (LJ) shared a conversation … [Read more...] about Homeopathy for eczema and allergies

Impetigo is a contagious skin complaint known as 'school sores', which is caused by staphylococcus and/or streptococcus. It might start with tender red spots around the mouth which turn into little blisters which later go crusty. In our homeopathy clinic, it's a frequently asked question: Can we use homeopathy for impetigo? Since it's such a common complaint it's a relief to know that homeopathy is commonly used to treat it. Treatment should be started as soon as it's realised that the skin problem is impetigo. The first homeopathic remedies we … [Read more...] about Homeopathy for Impetigo

Homeopathy Kit in Hahndorf

15/03/2015 By Linlee Leave a Comment

remedies-from-hahndorf

A visit to the Adelaide Hills turned up an old homeopathy kit tucked away in the local Hahndorf museum. Hahndorf is a little town up in the Hills of Adelaide. No prizes for guessing that there's a strong German influence in this part of South Australia. It is acknowledged as Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement. The place is chock a block with wood carvings for tourists and strange varieties of sausage. But it is the buildings and the history which appeal to me, so I headed over to The Hahndorf museum. It has a fascinating display about the lives of … [Read more...] about Homeopathy Kit in Hahndorf

OK, so glue ear isn’t exactly the new black when it comes to sexy diseases. We have homeopathic heroes all around the world making huge waves doing things that are much more exciting, such as homeopath extraordinaire Jeremy Sherr traipsing the backwaters of Africa treating people with Malaria and AIDS. I recently attended a very inspiring conference where Jeremy told his amazing story. Then there’s homeopath Rajan Sankaran in India, who has devised a very fascinating and innovative method to treat people with all manner of emotional and spiritual issues. … [Read more...] about Making glue ear sexy with homeopathy
