Homeopathy success after infertility and recurrent miscarriages
I decided to write this blog to assist those trying to conceive. The last few years have been a journey of discovery for me, and I now understand which homeopathic remedies need to be prescribed and why. It has been so wonderfully heart-warming to hear from several patients that they have fallen pregnant, and to continue to assist them with their journey through to the birth of a healthy baby.

Sarah Saunders, Homeopath
As well as remedies, a full medical history needs to be taken, and many lifestyle issues discussed, such as diet, supplements and the removal of toxins from the surrounding environment. I have recently added Homeopathic Facial Analysis to my practice, which was developed by Grant Bentley over 23 years ago. This has taken a while to study, and I am now supporting several patients with remedies chosen using this process as well.
I have listed three very different cases below, which highlight why individual homeopathic remedies need to be chosen.
1st Case Scenario: Infertility and homeopathy
Female Patient aged 29.
Having tried to fall pregnant for four years, unsuccessfully, she found my website and was interested in trying homeopathy to help her fall pregnant, before she tried IVF.
Medical history: One year previous to our meeting, she had surgery to remove two cysts from her ovaries due to endometriosis. Other than that, her cycle is regular (28 days), and she ovulates on day 14 or 15. She has undertaken blood tests to check her FSH and progesterone which were normal, and her partner has undertaken a sperm test, which was also normal.
I prescribed the following remedies for her:
Homeopathic Borax 30C. 5 drops every morning, this helps to regulate menstrual cycle and assists with mucous production.
Sepia 6c. 5 Drops every evening. This strengthens endometrial tissue
A carefully selected nosode LM 0/2. 5 Drops daily. This remedy is constitutional, and I chose it due to the suppression of emotions regarding issues with her mother, who has borderline personality disorder. This had caused my patients and her siblings to suffer from considerable stress during their childhoods.
Pulsatilla 200C. 5 drops weekly. This is a fertility remedy, it’s also indicated for endometriosis, which had been confined in the hospital after the removal of the cysts on her ovaries
Folliculinum 200C. 5 drops daily from day 5 – day 14 of cycle. This remedy helps with ovulation.
Homeobotanicals for fertility. Homeobotanicals are herbs, diluted and potentised in the same way as homeopathic remedies. I completed a course to study homeobotanicals to understand which herbs can help with different ailments. (Up to 5 different herbs can be added to one prescription bottle, and the herbs are chosen to help individual symptoms). This patient was prescribed a mix of Hb F, Hb F+, Hb B, Hb #5 and Hb #12.
Successful fertility results with homeopathy
After two months of taking the above remedies, my patient fell pregnant and she could not believe it! She is now a firm believer in homeopathy.
2nd Case Scenario: Infertility and homeopathy
Female Patient aged 37.
This patient had undergone four rounds of IVF, however, during the fourth round she suffered from Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS) which is a potentially serious complication caused by an over-response to fertility drugs that stimulate the ovaries to produce eggs. Unfortunately, following this painful and frightening experience she was advised that no more IVF would be advisable.
Medical history: The patient was put on the pill aged in her early teens to help with her acne. She took this for several years. When she came to see me, the last time she had ovulated or had a period was when she was fifteen. The IVF had made her feel very unwell, and she wanted to know if I could help to regain her health, and would it be possible to make her periods return? She was also taking daily thyroid medication.
I decided that a homeopathic detox was important to cleanse her system. Detoxes can be given in a more acute format (ascending potencies given over a four-day period), however in her case I took things slowly due to her delicate health and overreaction to the IVF.
Thyroidinum 6C – to be taken daily to assist her thyroid.
A carefully selected nosode 10M – two doses, one in the morning and one in the evening.
Week One: Monday and Wednesday. Poly Contraceptive 30C one dose morning and evening.
Tuesday and Thursday: Poly IVF 30C one dose morning and evening.
Saturday: One dose Calc Carb 30C and Folliculinum 30C
Week Two: Monday and Wednesday: Poly Contraceptive 200C (am and pm)
Tuesday and Thursday: Poly IVF 200C (am and pm)
Saturday: One dose Calc Carb 30C and Folliculinum 30C
Week Three: Monday and Wednesday Poly Contraceptive 1M (am and pm)
Tuesday and Thursday: Poly IVF 1M (am and pm)
Saturday: One dose Calc Carb and Folliculinum 30C
Week Four: Monday and Wednesday: Poly Contraceptive 10M (am and pm)
Tuesday and Thursday: Poly IVF 10M (am and pm)
The four weeks of treatment helped with bloating, weight gain and lack of energy, but when we met again, she explained that she had forgotten to mention that she often had problems sleeping due to anxiety from work. The next prescription was as follows:
Thyroidinum 6C – taken daily
A carefully selected nosode LM 0/2 – taken daily to assist sleep.
Folliculinum 30C – Taken for 5 days in the middle of the month to help her ovulate.
Oopherinum 30C – as above
Homeobotanicals for infertility: F, F+, #2, #1 and #22.
My patient continued on the treatment above, which helped with her sleep and after four months she had her first period. It did not return on the second month, so we changed the treatment protocol to the remedies below:
Thyroidinum 6C daily
A carefully selected nosode LM 0/2 daily
Ooperinum 30C days 5 – 90 of her cycle
Folliculinum 200C days 10 – 14 (taken from date of last period.
Within two months her periods returned monthly, and she was ovulating on day 14-15 of each month.
Success with Homeopathy
It took four more months for this patient to conceive naturally.
3rd Case Scenario: Recurrent miscarriages
Female Patient aged 26.
This patient had been trying to conceive for over two years and had suffered from ten miscarriages, which happened between week 8 to 10 of pregnancy. Apart from the emotional distress she was currently experiencing, her health was good and her menstrual cycle 28-29 days, and she ovulated on or around day 16.
Due to the repeated miscarriages, I asked her if she would refrain from trying to fall pregnant for two months, as we would need to detox her system with diet and homeopathy; as well as introducing the correct supplements. As she is young and healthy, the homeopathic detox was done over a matter of days, not weeks.
Day One: Poly Contraceptives 30C – two pills morning and night.
Day two: Poly Contraceptives 200C – as above.
Day three: Poly Contraceptives 1M – as above.
Day Four: Poly Contraceptives 10M – as above.
Diet to help prevent miscarriages: We decided upon an anti-candida diet during the two months as she had suffered from thrush. We chose a Natal support supplement, plus liquid selenium (which helps to prevent miscarriages), as well as Coq10 tablets
Other remedies that were chosen:
A carefully selected nosode 200C. One dose every two weeks until pregnant. This remedy was chosen due to her frequent miscarriages, as well as the fear that her situation was incurable and she felt powerless.
Sepia 6C. 5 drops every evening, to strengthen endometrial tissue.
Pulsatilla 200C. One dose weekly. This is to help her moods; she has been very tearful and wanting daily reassurance from her partner and mother.
Homeobotanicals for fertility and to prevent miscarriage: individual formula.
Homeobotanicals – Super greens and Organo bend to support the immune system.
Fertility success for the patient
After the two months of treatment, this patient fell pregnant on the third month, and did not miscarry, she expects her first child in March 2026.
Homeopathic Detoxes
Homeopathic detoxes are very powerful and help with chronic cases where the patient has been taking several different medications for months, or possibly years. In his book “Fighting Fire with Fire”, Danish homeopath Ton Jansen has put together a list of medications, and the order in which they should be detoxed. For example, the most important is steroids. I’ve put a list together below:
Poly steroids. The most important organ systems to detox are the endocrine and lymphatics. This includes all steroids, creams, inhalers and nasal sprays, as well as hormonal contraceptives (as listed below).
Poly contraceptives – for those that have taken the contraceptive pill for several years, and their cycle/ovulation has not returned to normal.
Poly vaccines. In those with chronic complaints or issues after vaccination, then these should be detoxed as they affect the endocrine, lymphatics, neurological systems, liver and intestines
Poly antibiotics. Detailed history should be taken of all long-standing medication, which can include anti-depressants, statins, and NSAIDS.
Poly bowel nosodes. Depending on the nature of the health complaint it is important to look at treating the bowel, as a 70% of body’s immune system is located in the digestive tract.
Poly IVF. Many women have health issues after taking IVF, therefore a detox can be very helpful.

Booking a homeopathy consultation
In homeopathy it’s not one size fits all. We see each person as an individual – as you can see from these three patients. If you are interested in how homeopathy can help you with fertility, book an appointment for support.
