I made this Miso Salmon as the centre piece to a Japanese lunch I made for a group of 8 friends. It was a huge hit for something relatively simple. We also had little salty edamame beans and pork gyoza (dumplings) to start. Everyone loved it, super filling but also really light. Made sure there was plenty of sake as well! Salmon nutritional value Great source of protein and inflammation reducing Omega 3 fatty … [Read more...] about Kate’s Miso Salmon Recipe
Weight Loss and Glucose Management: It’s not just what we eat but how we eat
I recently read a very interesting book, Glucose Revolution by Jessie Inchauspe, which explains glucose in detail, including sugar and fructose and how it is processed in the body. So often we focus on what and what not to eat, but it turns out that how we eat our food has a powerful effect on our glucose curves. Two meals consisting of the same foods can have vastly different impacts on our body depending on how their components are eaten. (Cornell University in 2015 has scientific papers that proved this). I may have learned a thing or two, but health is super complex and very individualised and it’s a bit of a journey … [Read more...] about Is it really perimenopause or is it your thyroid and Hashimoto?
