Freedom in Movement: Child Therapy Program

This is a program designed to develop a child’s faculty to learn, by working through movement and integration of the senses.

The aim is to improve the integration of primitive reflexes and neural pathways related to academic performance and social skills.

By doing so, the program helps the development of fine and gross motor skills, as well as cognitive systems.

This holistic neurodevelopment approach is based on Rudolf Steiner philosophy (Anthroposophy).

“I don’t know why I did it, I just did it!”

“Everyone says my handwriting is too messy”

“The teacher tells me off all the time and I don’t know why”

“I just forget to sit still”           “Nobody wants to play with me”

“Nobody wants to sit next to me”

“I just can’t play sport”           “What did you say?”

“I didn’t hear you say that”

“I don’t know what I’m meant to do.”

“I lost it again”

“I don’t want to go to school”             “My teacher doesn’t like me”

“I’m sorry I’m not very good at it”

If these complaints sound very familiar, it may mean that the child saying them has missed some key developmental stages and has moved onto the next phase without the connection being made.  It may seem like nothing at the time, but as they reach primary school age some physical and emotional difficulties can show up to be problematic.

As parents, we can carry guilt about our kids missing these phases for whatever reason.  This is why, Practitioner Ana Carolina Ladeia, formulates an individual program according to each child’s needs, so that the child’s neural pathway connections can be improved.

What to expect from the Freedom in Movement Child Therapy program

Initial Appointment Package (includes 4 x one-hour sessions)

Number 1: In-person or zoom or phone call conversation with parent(s)

Number 2  In-person interactive session with the child

Number 3: In-person interactive session with the child

Number 4: Feedback with the parents about the child.

After the four initial sessions, the child will attend weekly for a term.

The timing of these initial sessions will depend on how quickly or slowly the parents want this program completed

These weekly sessions will help your child manage their emotions, be in control of their bodies, and understand their bodies so that they don’t have to work so hard at reminding themselves to listen, focus, and follow instructions.  This will free up their positive energy to complete tasks and play with friends naturally.
